It was a volatile fourth quarter in 2021 for the LPG market with prices hitting multi-year highs in October on supply concerns and then falling sharply in the following months on higher-than-expected US production. With the recovery in global oil demand and the sharp increase in prices in recent months, energy companies are planning to increase capital spending which is expected to increase US exports. Middle East exports should also increase in tandem with higher oil production. Meanwhile, propane is becoming increasingly competitive in the petrochemical sector and driving demand higher in Asia and Europe.
Join Poten's analysts in our upcoming LPG webcast on February 16 for an update on LPG supply and demand.
Topics to be discussed:
• Upward revision to US production and exports as producers increase spending
• Outlook for Middle East exports following the oil price recovery
• Supply expansions and contractions in other parts of the world
• Improving demand outlook from the petrochemical sector
• Update on shipping
