Europe catches its breath

About the Event

The Biden Administration’s pause on the approval of export authorizations has upended project development in the United States and it maybe even worse than it appears. Hear Poten’s view on how this decision could set US projects back for years and give competing global projects an advantage.

The tidal wave of new capacity under construction will start to hit global markets in earnest in 2025, leading to years of abundant supply and low prices. While this is good news for buyers, low prices and abundant supply may hinder efforts to develop the next wave of LNG capacity. We’ll update our view of the global supply situation.

The key to absorbing the 150 MMt of new capacity under construction will be rising demand from price-sensitive consumers. As supply grows, global prices should drop, spurring higher demand. But there are many questions about how strong this demand response will be. We’ll take a deep dive into demand trends among rising consumers, including China, India and Southeast Asia.

Join Poten’s senior international analysts for a lively discussion on the prospects for energy security in Europe, global supply and demand fundamentals and the latest insights on contracts and LNG markets.
